The SAP has evolved, find out how below and contact us today to secure spaces for your new or developing operatives on our first intake of the new SAP scheduled for Monday 21 May.
There are 3 main improvements to the SAP that are detailed below but the sector leading content remains the same including extensive ACAD Asbestos training, Mines Rescue Confined Spaces, St John Ambulance First Aid, IOSH Working Safely, PASMA, Fire Awareness & Extinguisher Usage, Communication skills, Manual handling, Working at height and even more…!
To ensure the SAP works for the Licensed Asbestos sector, the first change ACAD has introduced is an alternative entry route to rectify this issue. This new option is a shorter week 1 programme with a 1 day TNA based refresher course in place of the 3 day new operative course. This route is ideally suited for operatives with up to 12 months experience who are committed to you and in whom you want to invest.
Whilst the content is the same, a total of four weeks of off the job training, followed by up to six months of portfolio build for NVQ L2 achievement, the original duration of 24 months was a little too long. All new SAP’s will now take 18 months to complete with the four week long blocks delivered at regular intervals over the first 13 months followed by the NVQ portfolio build.
ACAD has secured a direct funding agreement with CITB meaning the SAP is now free of charge to our levy paying members and the employer will also receive £960 of CITB grants over the 18 month duration.
