The Asbestos sector is all too familiar with the rolling annual generic refresher training and associated ‘tickets’ but the introduction of NVQ as the new minimum accepted competency level in the Asbestos sector is set to change all of that. ACAD Manager Graham Warren explores how the sector is moving to NVQ standards and CPD for professionals creating a solid backbone to support the licensed sector into the future.
ACAD members will be familiar with the consistent messages around NVQ standards that have been coming out of ACAD for years but here these will be built upon to light up the way forward for the Asbestos sector as a whole.
Graham commented ‘ACAD is moving forward at a pace including certificated regionals to support CPD for managers, the SAP for new starters and the successful launch of the ACAD Skill Card – the first CSCS affiliated Card Scheme for the Asbestos sector that will replace CSCS cards, it’s pretty clear why our membership is growing so rapidly. I will be explaining all of this in greater detail in Keynote Theatre Hall 2 on Thursday at 1:15pm and hope as many people as possible can join us on the day.’
